CRD Updates the Survivors of Violence Leave Notice Employers Must Provide
What changed
CRD published an updated multilingual Survivors of Violence leave notice (CRD E20N-ENG, December 2025) that employers must provide to employees at hire, annually, on request, and when an employee discloses that they or a family member are a victim; it adds leave to attend court proceedings under AB 406, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
Who it applies to
California employers required to inform employees of their right to leave as survivors of violence.
What employers may need to do
- Replace the prior version with the December 2025 CRD Survivors of Violence notice (or a substantially similar notice) in the languages your workforce needs.
- Provide the notice at hire, annually, on request, and whenever an employee discloses that they or a family member are a victim of violence.
