Important: RegWatch Is Not Legal Advice
RegWatch (operated at regwatch.us, "Service") is an informational monitoring tool. It detects changes on publicly available government webpages, generates plain-English summaries using automated systems (including AI), and delivers them to subscribers.
The Service does not constitute legal advice, regulatory guidance, or professional compliance counsel. No attorney-client, consultant-client, or other professional relationship is created by your use of RegWatch.
Summaries, action items, classifications, and any other content produced by the Service are generated automatically and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. You should always verify information against the official source (linked in every digest) and consult qualified legal or compliance professionals before making decisions based on RegWatch content.
RegWatch is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. We do not review, interpret, or apply regulations to your specific business circumstances.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using RegWatch, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
RegWatch provides:
- Daily automated monitoring of select California state and federal government agency webpages for regulatory changes.
- AI-generated summaries of detected changes, including classifications ("Action required" or "Informational"), suggested action items, and links to official sources.
- Email digest delivery when changes are detected.
- A web dashboard for reviewing change history, digest archives, and monitored sources.
3. No Guarantee of Completeness or Accuracy
RegWatch monitors a curated set of government webpages. We do not monitor all regulatory activity, legislation, court decisions, or enforcement actions. Our coverage is limited to the specific agencies and pages listed on our Sources page.
Government agencies may publish changes through channels we do not monitor (e.g., PDF documents, press conferences, direct mail, other webpages). Changes may occur between our daily checks and not be reflected until the next monitoring cycle.
AI-generated summaries are produced automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or mischaracterizations. Source links are provided with every change event so you can verify against the official government publication.
You acknowledge that the Service is a supplement to — not a replacement for — your own compliance processes, legal counsel, and professional advisors.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Accounts are for individual use unless you are on a plan that explicitly supports multiple users. You may not share login credentials or allow others to access your account.
5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
RegWatch offers paid subscription plans billed monthly or annually. Current pricing is available on our Pricing page. Prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing period.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at the start of your next billing cycle after notice is given.
If we offer a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel during the trial at no cost.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Resell, redistribute, or republish RegWatch content without written permission.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal use.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Misrepresent RegWatch content as legal advice, official government communication, or your own original analysis in a way that could mislead others.
7. Intellectual Property
The RegWatch platform, including its design, code, branding, and AI-generated summaries, is owned by RegWatch and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Regulatory content sourced from government agencies remains in the public domain. Our summaries, classifications, and action items are original works produced by our systems.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes during your subscription period.
8. Privacy and Data
We collect the information necessary to provide the Service, including your email address, account preferences, and usage data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Email delivery is handled by Resend. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. These providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We may send you transactional emails (digests, account notifications) and occasional product updates. You can manage digest preferences in your account settings.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Please read carefully
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all regulatory changes will be detected or accurately summarized. Government websites may change structure, become temporarily unavailable, or publish information in formats we cannot process.
You assume all risk associated with your use of the Service and any decisions made based on its content.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RegWatch and its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
This includes, without limitation, damages arising from: missed or delayed regulatory changes, inaccurate summaries or classifications, reliance on Service content without independent verification, or service interruptions.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to RegWatch in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RegWatch and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on Service content for business or compliance decisions.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service at least 15 days before they take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
13. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material changes. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
14. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and contacting us at support@regwatch.us.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay subscription fees. We will provide notice when reasonably possible.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
